Transitional Ministry Organizations

LuTMA is the new name for NALIP which has been training Lutheran Intentional Interim Pastors for more than 25 yeas. Lutheran Transitional Ministry Association (LuTMA, formerly NALIP)  touches this reality, encouraging curiosity and growth. Since 1997, we  have worked with thousands of pastors and multiple partners nationwide.  Our name change reflects our own ongoing process of transformation.

Over 300 transitional leaders are trained yearly with the IMN  Fundamentals of Transitional Ministry Training program and the Annual  Conference provides 3 days of seminars, workshops and keynote speakers,  with the  expertise in their fields of transitional ministry, practical  transition applications, spirituality, human behavior, mission and  vision, conflict management  explored for over 35 years.

The Center’s goal for Interim Ministry training is to prepare leaders to  help congregations make the most of the time between the departure of  one pastor and the calling of another. The experience of hundreds of  congregations and their leaders confirms that what is done in this  transitional interlude greatly influences the formation of a solid  ministry team with the new minister and congregation.

TMEC of the PCUSA Educational Events focus on building leadership skills for churches and communities experiencing transition, led by practitioners in a committed learning community. We strive to make all of our events denominationally and racially inclusive, as we value the diversity of our faith and the voices within it. Faculty is experienced and trained and there are many venues available.
